We had a fun experience with a Marie Bostwick Sew and Read event in the spring. It was so much fun that we decided to do it again. Marie Bostwick is a renowned writer, quilter and pattern designer. See her website at Our four session event will involve making one of Marie’s free download patterns (preferably in a Christmas themed fabric) and reading her novel, The Second Sister. During the four sessions, participants will complete a beautiful quilt top, learn new quilting skills, share insights about her novel, build new friendships and have some fun. A teacher from Holly’s Quilt Cabin will provide some instruction at the beginning of each session, including some ruler demos, and will be available to help with your pattern. She will accept requests on what is reviewed. Come and join us!

You should have some basic quilting skills related to cutting fabric and being able to sew straight 1/4” seams. This is perfect for the quilter who would like more experience and help with various sewing techniques.

Each session will consist of:

- A quilting lesson on tools, techniques and general quilting skills

- Time to work on your quilt with support from a staff member

- An opportunity to meet and work with other quilters

- A brief book discussion
